“Broad knowledge of the procurement profession was lacking at Het Oogziekenhuis in Rotterdam. Which is why, late 2016, we reached out to Procurement Services. Starting with the procurement of linen, quickly followed by cleaning services and other facility related services. In 2018 support on primary procurement categories was added and in 2019 the procurement co-ordination of ICT projects was also included in the scope of Procurement Services.
A Procurement Services Project Manager is on site for one day a week at Het Oogziekenhuis.
Thanks to working with Procurement Services our supplier relationships have become more formal. Our conduct is now more professional which is a true credit to Procurement Services.
Now the eye surgeon is responsible for the technical innovation and the tactical/strategic procurement is routed to the department. It’s working really well. We are capable of innovating at a much higher pace and work within the constraints of the budget”
